Professional Life and Practice
Melissa has built her career on representing the “little guy” by tackling Goliath adversaries without fear. With several years of practice under her belt, she has gained legal prowess by working with solo practitioners and large firms alike. Melissa is proud to claim that she is a litigator, an attorney who excels in persuasive writing and advocating in the courtroom. She has since realized the secret of success: building lasting and real relationships with her clients.

Melissa graduated from the University of California, Irvine, Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts as a double major in Political Science and English Literature. She then received her Juris Doctor from Western State University College of Law, where she was a member of Law Review and Honors Moot Court. Throughout her college and law school years, Melissa has been heavily involved in student activities and community outreach.
Melissa is not only a powerhouse in the courtroom, but also in her personal life. She is a highly and nationally-ranked athlete in the sport of Powerlifting in the esteemed powerlifting federations, USPA and USAPL.

About the Team
Nicholas You is an ambitious corporate attorney and Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US), bringing in-house counsel and marketing experience in a wide variety of industries. He possesses extensive knowledge in contracts, trademarks, business formations, regulatory compliance, and business development through his diverse background.
As an attorney, he has served in in-house capacities with cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) businesses, honing his corporate legal skills. Prior to practicing law, Nicholas worked in the sports, entertainment and fashion industries, most notably with the real-life inspiration to Jerry Maguire.
After graduating from the University of California, Irvine with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, Nicholas attended Western State University College of Law on a scholarship where he obtained his Juris Doctorate degree and a Business Law certificate.
When he is not providing white-glove legal services to his clients, Nicholas enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters.
Mandana is a registered patent attorney who has been protecting new ideas since 2010. She served as an in-house patent attorney for a Fortune 500 pharmaceutical company and now proudly represents growing businesses and start-ups in a variety of industries.
After graduating from Cal Poly with a B.S. in biology, Mandana was a research scientist for several years before deciding to go to law school. She attended Western State University, College of Law where she met Mel.
Mandana enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband and son. Their family maintains an active lifestyle, including playing tennis, swimming, going to the gym as a family and most importantly, chasing after a toddler.
Angie Conquer is a senior paralegal in the areas of civil and business litigation. Angie provides support to the attorneys and clients through scheduling, drafting of documents, maintaining files, and helping to prepare for mediations, hearings, and trials. Angie brings more than 20 years of experience in all aspects of the litigation process beginning with the initiation of a matter through the motions & discovery phase to resolution whether it be settlement, mediation, trial or appeal.
Angie works hands-on with clients through every step of their case from the scheduling of their initial consultation through the conclusion of the case. She helps clients navigate the legal process with compassion and understanding while keeping them updated and informed.
When not working Angie is an avid traveler who has visited 32 countries, 38 of the United States, and taken more than a dozen cruises. Angie enjoys spending time with her husband in beautiful California and visiting her children & grandchildren on the East Coast. Angie is a life-long Alabama Crimson Tide fan. Roll Tide!
Stephanie graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with Highest Honors before receiving her Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University School of Law in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. During law school, Stephanie participated in the Innocence & Justice Clinic and Litigation Clinic, as well as worked as a research assistant. After law school, she spent several years as an attorney in the Pacific Northwest where she represented lenders in judicial foreclosures, pre-foreclosure mediations, and advised lenders regarding regulatory compliance issues. Since moving to California, Stephanie handles all types of civil litigation but has focused her practice on business litigation. In her free time, she enjoys camping with her husband and watching Dodgers baseball
Paul F. Vallejo
Paul is the Firm Administrator for Uplift Law. In this role, Paul helps Uplift Law with all administrative duties such as filings, communications and intakes, as well as managing our online presence. Paul assists Mel with everything that she needs and maintains everything organized and streamlined. Paul has always been passionate about issues of social injustice and inequality.
Paul is graduating from California State University, Dominguez Hills, in Spring 2020 with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and an emphasis on American Studies. Throughout his education, Paul has always been involved in social justice groups on campus. Paul is also an avid gym-goer and weightlifter, although he is also interested in taking it to the next step and trying powerlifting soon. Paul is also fluent in Spanish and is endeavoring to be a court-certified translator.
In his free time, Paul enjoys going to the movies (an activity he jokingly refers to as one of his vices), traveling, and spending time with his loved ones and his 5 year-old pug Lucy.
Bill Tran is an aspiring attorney, currently in his second year at Loyola Law School. Bill has experience helping clients in personal injury law but hopes to specialize in business litigation and transactional work. A strong believer in effective communication, Bill always strives to be clear, concise, and compassionate with clients. In his free time, he enjoys staying active by going to the gym and by playing sports. Specifically, powerlifting, basketball, and football are passions of his, and he is a dedicated fan of the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Chargers.
