Get to Know Your Law Firm
“My business is your business. I intimately know the ups, downs, and tribulations of any small business owner because I am one myself. In that regard, I understand the ebbs and flows of business such that my firm and myself will fortify and protect you and yours.”
Melissa Fulgencio is no stranger to the adversary. She began her legal career in litigation and hailed from several prominent plaintiff firms. Her legal disciplines are in business and employment law, which prove a successful marriage in counseling and fighting on behalf of any small business owner and entrepreneur.
Professional Life and Practice
Not a believer in keeping her clients at an arm’s length distance, behind hierarchical tradition, a stuffy, cold office with a fake law library, and a client response time spanning a day or even weeks. Uplift Law was built upon the new premise of an attorney client relationship built upon trust and strength through collaboration. Melissa has built this Firm with the Client as the focal point. The Firm endeavors to shadow the Client to meet the ever-change and fluid needs of real life and the ever-changing dynamic of business.
Melissa began her legal career in the court room as a litigator in both business and employment law and has found substantial legal success in representing the “little guy” against Goliath adversaries. Fearless, bold, and focused are the mantras of this Firm.
Melissa credits her legal success to unrelenting work ethic, tenacity, and integrity. She walks the talk and while others may say “no,” Melissa wields such a response as a “not yet.” With her, you get strong together.
“I put my client first. That’s non-negotiable. And no matter what, we will fight the good fight no matter how challenging our adversary.”
Melissa graduated from the University of California, Irvine, Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts as a double major in Political Science and English Literature. She then received her Juris Doctor from Western State University College of Law, where she was a member of Law Review and Honors Moot Court. Throughout her college and law school years, Melissa has been heavily involved in student activities and community outreach.
Melissa is not only a powerhouse in the courtroom, but also in her personal life. She is a highly and nationally-ranked athlete in the sport of Powerlifting in the esteemed powerlifting federations, USPA and USAPL.
