Position Title: Assistant to Founding Attorney
Location: Remote; must download What’s App (desktop and to mobile device), but preferably PST.
Work Hours: Part Time to Full Time transition (20-25 hours per week); beginning 9 a.m. Monday through Friday and possibly weekends with notice. Base number of hours is determined by applicant’s availability but may increase with work performance along with pay rate.
Term: This contract is for one year and will renew automatically unless 14 calendar days notice by any party. This position will begin Monday, March 1, 2021.

Uplift Law was founded in 2018 to challenge both the hierarchy of traditional brick and mortar law firms and to break down the barriers between attorney and Client. We service small businesses in all industries and take on a select number of Plaintiff employment matters. You should know that any addition to the Firm staff is a serious consideration by me and specifically in this position. We are family here and teamwork is non-negotiable.
Classification: Non-exempt (independent contractor/1099).
Position Summary: You will handle with me, the business operations of the day to day Firm. That being said, you will mostly be interacting directly with me and will tangentially have interactions with the legal team. However, you will be expected to regularly work closely with my Marketing Director on all social media platforms of the Firm and @lawyerlifter. Your greatest and most important task will be to manage third party vendors needed to keep the Firm running, adjust to the fast pace lifestyle of a business law firm as we service small business owners. Therefore, business doesn’t sleep, neither does this law Firm. We pride ourselves on being at the pulse of an ever-changing business world. Additionally, our online presence is of utmost importance to me. You will manage all platforms with me and marketing as to our brand and the message we put out. No prior legal experience or knowledge is necessary but I demand you to be bright, adaptive, and
flexible enough to absorb employment and business law. There will be times when I will call you to return calls from opposing counsel, vendors, current clients, and potential clients. Depending on your growth and work performance, I will call on you to do potential client intakes.
Trust and loyalty are the most important characteristics I seek in this position as you will run this Firm with me and hold the keys to this Firm. Think about it this way: every single team member is an extension of me, and essentially, an extension of what this Firm represents.
-Overseeing our cloud client management software system (Clio). This means assisting my Senior Paralegal in organization and addressing any tech or sync issues with our google platform.
-Overseeing social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin (Kennect which is another tool used to run campaigns targeting specific demographic, Yelp, Google, YouTube). I also expect you to also guide me in what’s best for this Firm marketing-wise or investing in tools or resources that will assist in growth.
-Managing G Suite and helping legal team with any troubleshooting.
-Managing all vendors to this Firm such as our 24/7 live answering service and our branding vendors used for current Firm grocery totes, face masks, stickers, and magnets.
-Collaborating daily with Marketing Director to help produce graphics, copy, as well as help in production of our podcast, photoshoots, and promotional videos.
-Communicating daily with Founding Attorney and legal team. I will direct you as to how you may help each team member.
-Potential client intakes – in both business and employment law.
-Help legal team with research related to current events – we must always be on top of what influences our clients (small businesses, entrepreneurs and on the plaintiff employment side (employees).
-Bachelor of Arts and/or Bachelor of Science
-Apt ability to use Microsoft Suite (Powerpoint, Excel, Word); Apt ability to use google sheets and Professional Adobe Acrobat (if you do not already have it, I will supply)
-Demonstrate ability to problem solve with minimal supervision
-Demonstrate ability to think outside the box or premeditate what I need or what this Firm needs for growth.
-Brainstorm on ways to improve our online presence on various social media platforms.
-Clear Communication (verbal and written).
-Demonstrate ability to speak clearly and succinctly with clients and potential clients.
-Current driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
-Reliable computer hardware and software.
Pay Rate: $15/per hour. You must submit your hours and timelog to me every 15th and last day of the month. Time is kept every 6 minutes which constitutes .1 of the hour. You will be paid 3-5 business days upon receipt. You will be provided with a sample of how to keep your hours and description. Increases are based on merit/work performance and will be assessed regularly.
